Interview with Tim Wall, Director of Product Marketing for Element FusionElement Fusion, is the maker of LightCMS, a friendly, private-label CMS for web designers and their clients. it was founded in 1999 by three Oklahoma City businessmen. It has since grown to become one of the fastest growing companies in America, expanding its reach around the United States and the world.

Today I had the chance to interview Tim Wall, Director of Product Marketing for Element Fusion, We chated about how they get started and their plans for the future.

 

 

 

 

 

Hello Tim, thanks for giving Querier.net the chance to interview you, Please tell us more about yourself.

I'm the Product Marketing Director for Element Fusion. We are a leading internet development company specializing in world-class web design, easy-to-use web-based products, and internet marketing services. Our product, LightCMS, is a web content management system built especially for web designers. It provides custom design flexibility and the opportunity to private label it and resell it under your own brand.

 

 

Element Fusion was founded about 10 years ago by only three Oklahoma City businessmen, How did you guys start? whatwere the challenges? And what have been the keys to ElementFusion success?

Survival was the biggest challenge in the first year, a challenge we met with a simple formula -- producing world-class work and exceeding each customer's expectations. The formula proved successful in 1999 and it remains at the core of our business strategy today.

As our business has grown, we've continued to maintain a debt-free position and we've never taken funding from outside investors. This organic model has given us stability and the opportunity to ensure our standards of quality are continually met. Our ability to combine new technologies with traditional business models, have given us an edge and fueled our continued growth.

 

How has the Web changed since you started Element Fusion all those years ago?

In the early days, there were still many businesses that had to be convinced they needed a website. Now, most businesses know they need a website and the opportunity is more in teaching them how to be more successful on the web. This shift has naturally moved us into creating our easy-to-use suite of web-based products, as well as our very successful internet marketing division. Put it all together with our design services and our bottom line is helping organizations get real results online.

 

There are many CMS out there, What do you think sets Element Fusion CMS products apart from others?

Our CMS product was specifically built for custom design. We feel that the design flexibility is unmatched, making it the ideal solution for designers who want control over the look and feel of their sites. It also allows us to quickly and easily deploy designs for our own clients.

Secondly, our system is designed to be easy-to-use. So easy to use, in fact, that many of our customers report their clients are up and using it with very little training. This saves time and effort for designers who are looking to help their clients get up and running on the system.

Finally, we offer amazing stability and support. Our applications are hosted in top-tier data centers with full backups and redundancies. And we've already discussed the stability of our company, which is built for the long term. Plus, we've got an amazing team of people here that contribute to supporting our product through email support, discussion forums, and support websites.

 

How do you see Element Fusion in the next 10 years and what's the next big step you plan to take?

Ten years from now, we will be offering the products and services our customers need to be successful online and in the marketplace. It's impossible to say what those products and services will be. A big part of our success has been in our ability to remain agile and to react to the fast-changing world of technology, while still remaining steady and consistent in our commitment to our customers. That's what we'll be doing ten years from now and ten years beyond that and so on.

 

What is the truth you know now that you wish you'd known 10 years ago?

In our ten years, we've learned a lot, and a lot of that only comes through experience and can't be taught.  The only truly valuable thing we could be told about back then would be knowledge of the future in terms of technology, trends, and economic conditions.  But that's just wishful thinking!
